Roppongi, named after a fashionable district in Tokyo (the word translates as "six pine trees"), offers a thoughtful, imaginative and always surprising array of fusion items that combine influences from the Pacific Rim, to Indian and back to Europe. The extensive menu is divided into tapas (smaller tasting portions) and more traditional categories of food items. The tapas section is a gourmet's dream come true, except that one can't possibly order all the items that appeal. These appetizers are surprisingly substantial and three or four shared between two will make a satisfying meal.
